Automotive Cybersecurity

Demonstrate your vehicles are protected against cyber-attacks with ISO/SAE 21434 certification.
Future Automobile and Graphic User Interface

As vehicle architectures continue to evolve and become more complex, along with the functions they are required to perform, the impact that can be made on the driver or their assistance systems is also growing.

The vulnerabilities associated with this development and the associated attack path options, and the damage that may result from this and its impact, must be kept in mind, and the resulting risks identified and reduced through measures.

For this purpose, a standard for road vehicles has been implemented which is intended to consider and guide cybersecurity engineering, ISO/SAE 21434.

What is ISO/SAE 21434?

ISO/SAE 21434 is currently the only automotive industry related cybersecurity standard on the international market that deals with cybersecurity and its procedural implementation and evaluation in vehicle engineering. There are therefore also points of contact with the development processes for functional safety in accordance with ISO 26262.

To achieve this, it is important to:

  1. Integrate a company-specific procedural structure that identifies the product's protected assets
  2. Recognize potential threats and analyze, evaluate, and manage them accordingly
  3. Derive measures for risk treatment
  4. Consider product developments throughout the entire life cycle
  5. Define improvement options for cybersecurity, starting from the concept phase to the decommissioning of the product
  6. Provide guided responses in the event of a cybersecurity incident

Aspects from various standards can be found in ISO/SAE 21434, and an influence from ISO 26262 is obvious, especially since there is a certain connection and proximity to ISO 26262 in terms of application and structure. This can simplify synergies in defined requirements in some places.

We provide a unique, newly developed testing and certification program to ensure your development processes, components, and vehicles comply with ISO/SAE 21434, ISO 26262, and certifications for hardware and software, such as Common Criteria and SESIP.
