We are proud to issue Godot Inc. with our first-ever ISO/IEC 42001 certificate in Japan, proving its commitment to safe and secure artificial intelligence (AI).
Godot Inc. received the certificate, after successfully implementing an AI management system (AIMS). The covered scope is “Design, development, deployment, and optimization of AI-driven systems for behavioural analytics and adaptive user engagement. Ai systems analyse service and products interactions, identifying engagement patterns, and generating context-aware communication”.

Go Suzui, Cofounder and CTO of Godot Inc. commented:
“At Godot, we uphold social technology, transparency and inclusivity as core values, and have been dedicated to developing technologies that enhance well-being without causing harm to people, society or the environment.
“Our ISO/IEC 42001 certification serves as third-party validation that our AI system development, operations and management practices – built upon these principles – comply with the internationally recognized AIMS standard.
“We place strong emphasis on values, such as transparency, safety and explainability, in the social implementation of AI technologies. This certification, granted following rigorous assessment by SGS Japan, is a significant milestone that recognizes the daily efforts of each and every member of our team under a global framework.
“Looking ahead, we will remain committed to continuously strengthening and improving our systems, based on AIMS, to ensure that our clients can continue to use our AI solutions with confidence and peace of mind.”
Aymeric Riverieulx, Head of Innovation, Mobility and Digital Trust Assurance at SGS, thanked his team for their dedication. He said: “We are happy to present our first ISO/IEC 42001 certificate in Japan to Godot Inc.
“ISO/IEC 42001 is the leading AI standard for helping entities and society take advantage of the evolving technology while providing peace of mind that systems are being established and operated sensibly. Certification is a testament to the Godot Inc. team’s dedication to robust, safe and secure AI that enhances the user experience.”
What is ISO/IEC 42001?
In response to the rise of AI and the challenges it creates, the ISO and IEC created the ISO/IEC 42001 standard.
This global standard specifies the requirements for establishing, implementing, maintaining and continually improving an AIMS. The goal is to help organizations and society benefit the most from AI while reassuring stakeholders that systems are being developed and used responsibly.
What are the benefits of ISO/IEC 42001 certification?
ISO/IEC 42001 certification follows successful completion of an audit and enables you to:
- Implement AI safely, with evidence of responsibility and accountability
- Consider security, safety, fairness, transparency and data and AI system quality throughout the life cycle
- Show that introducing AI is a strategic decision with clear objectives
- Indicate strong governance concerning AI
- Strike a balance between governance and innovation
- Ensure that AI is used responsibly, especially concerning its continuous learning
- Ensure that all relevant safeguards are in place
- Combine key frameworks with experience to implement crucial processes like risk, life cycle and data quality management
- Contribute to multiple UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
